They were formed in 1919 following the collapse of Leeds City. They currently play at Elland Road in the Premiership, having been promoted from the Championship in 2020.
Leeds United have an illustrious history. They have won 3 English League Titles, 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup, 2 Charity Shields and 2 Inter Cities Fairs Cups. They have also been close to winning major European honours, losing in the 1975 European Cup Final to Bayern Munich, and getting to the semi-finals of the 2001 Champions League. They were also runners up in the European Cup Winners Cup in 1973.
Leeds United are the team many other teams love to hate! They have rivalries with a number of clubs which have caused deep divides over the years. They were known for their aggressive style of football during the seventies and eighties with leg chopping stars such as Billy Bremner playing for them!
The clubs anthem is Marching on Together and they play in an all-white kit. Their most successful era was under the management of Don Revie, who managed the club between 1961 and 1974. He then went on to manage England and was replaced by Brian Clough, who only managed 44 days at the helm.
