David Coulthard is a Scottish former F1 racing driver. He went on to become a successful presenter, journalist and commentator. The driving legend featured in fifteen Formula 1 seasons between 1994 and 2008. He was the winner in 13 Grand Prix and made the podium 62 times. His best season was 2001 where he was runner up whilst racing for McLaren. He won five of his victories between 1999 and 2000 before being runners up to Michael Schumacher in the Championship.

Coulthard’s potential was seen when he began go-karting at the age of 11. He progressed quickly to the British Formula Ford Championship and then on to the Formula 3000 series. Coulthard made his debut in Formula One in 1994 driving for Williams, where he succeeded Ayrton Senna. He raced for Williams between 1994 and 1995 before moving on to McClaren. He achieved good success with McClaren between 1996 and 2004. Coulthard finished his F1 career with Red Bull, helping them to achieve their first podium finish.

He retired in 2008 and continued working for Red Bull as a consultant. Coulthard also pursued a career in TV, joining the BBC as a pundit and commentator for Formula One. He joined Channel 4 in 2016 once they took ownership of the UK’s terrestrial TV rights for F1. The racing legend also participates in the Race of Champions
