Mike Trout is an America pro baseball player who features for the Los Angeles Angels of the Major League Baseball (MLB). A true legend of baseball he is nicknamed ‘the Millville Meteor’. He has been an MLB All-Star a hugely impressive eight times. Added to this, he is a seven-time winner of the Silver Slugger Award and a three-time winner of the Most Valuable Player in the American League, coming second on four other occasions. He is considered one of the best players of the MLB, and one of the best young players to have played baseball. Trout is renowned for his athleticism and led the league in ‘wins above replacement in his first full seasons. This accolade sums up a players total contribution to his team.

Trout was born and raised in New Jersey. Trout’s father attended the University of Delaware and played baseball there before becoming a pick for the Minnesota Twins, before an injury ended his career. Mike Trout played baseball and basketball at High School. He went on to play at East Carolina University prior to being drafted to the Arizona Angels in 2009. Trout won the Topps Minor League Player of the Year Award in 2010 before being promoted to the Los Angeles Angels in 2011. He has experienced huge success there and continues to play for them, such is his loyalty.

His nicknames include ‘Prince Fish’, ‘God’s Gift, ‘Millville Miracle’ and ‘King Fish 2.0’. President Barack Obama would use Trout as an analogy for the 2014 US Farm Bill, saying it was ‘like Mike Trout…somebody who’s got a lot of tools’. He is a keen follower of the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Flyers and the Philadelphia. A Trout trading card broke all record by becoming the most expensive sports card for $3.93 million.
